Now, back to the story: in Windows John is shown to be not-so-good at 'killing' people (in contrast to his father who is an expert marksman and never gets any enemies), and as a consequence Johnny must find a way to help Johnny reach the top of the food chain. However, in the sequel, Windows, the gnu escapes from his tiny island on a boat and lands on earth among the natives of 'The Great White East' who thinks him to be a monster and send him off to Earth realm.
In the Johnny Castaway Screensaver all these activities have versions: when sleeping he is sometimes tied up to chains or an octopus, when fishing he catches a big fish and sometimes he is carried away by a giant crab. Johnny is a solitary gnu who lives on a tiny desert island where he keeps himself busy with a number of hobbies such as reading, fishing and building a sand castle.
